Diamond Disclosure

DISCLOSURE FORM

I_____________________________________ am in full understanding of DIAMOND having been surrendered back to the organization after approx. 2 years of ownership due to the fact that she had attacked the older dog in the house and the daughter was bitten when trying to break up a fight between the two dogs.

Diamond has become increasingly more aggressive toward the older dog in the home, attacking them on multiple occasions, once requiring a visit to the ER. On the last occasion the daughter, in an attempt to separate the dogs, was bitten and required stitches. No professional training was pursued after any of these incidents and at this time the family returned Diamond to avoid any potential for injury to a child.

Since being surrendered back to us Diamond has been evaluated by a trainer while in boarding. During that time she has not demonstrated any aggressive behavior toward people or dogs. While in foster care for 6 weeks Diamond never demonstrated any human or animal aggression.  Based on the evaluation and her behavior in boarding we feel the incident was uncharacteristic and brought on by environmental influences including a lack of exercise and structure.

Diamond would benefit from a structured environment.  We feel it best for her to go to an adult home who will continue to provide structure and guidance and we might recommend a home with male dogs however we suspect it was not the gender of the pet and more environment that contributed to the incidents .
