DISCLOSURE FORM

I_____________________________________ am in full understanding of DUNCAN having been surrendered back to the organization after approx. 1 week of ownership due to the fact that he bit the owner.  

Here are the events leading up to the incident:  Adopter’s boyfriend took Duncan for a walk about 2:30. Comes across 2 larger dogs on retractable leashes. Those dogs become reactive, boyfriend turns to go the other way. Duncan is non reactive. Owner has no control of her dogs they start charging Duncan and take nips at him from behind. The boyfriend manages to get Duncan away, he his fine.

About 5:30 adopter comes home, loving on duncan, boyfriend comes up behind duncan to pet him, Duncan turns around and bites him in the face. Duncan caught his bottom eyelid and tore it, requiring surgery. Duncan was confused after the incident, his adopter brought him into the bedroom and into his crate without issue. 

Since being surrendered back to us Duncan has been evaluated by a trainer and quarantined in boarding. During that time he has not demonstrated any aggressive behavior.  While in foster care Duncan never demonstrated any human or animal aggression. Based on the evaluation and his behavior in boarding we feel the incident was uncharacteristic and brought on by environmental influences.

Duncan  benefits from a structured environment.  We feel it best for him to go to an adult home who will continue to provide structure and guidance.  

LCAR has fully disclosed the information known about Duncan.  In consideration for being permitted to foster or adopt Duncan I assume full responsibility for the risk of bodily injury or property damage caused by this dog.
